I love golf! In the early 1990s, I was introduced to this lifetime sport and I am ever so thankful. After hacking around and taking lessons, I partnered with a friend to start Soulful Golf, Inc. By utilizing innovative event planning, we strive to improve the level of diversity in golf and physical fitness in America. Soulful Golf has events that are appropriate for ALL men and women who love the game and have the desire to learn or improve their skills and playing environment. The game of golf is an excellent way to measure character, share a smile, and test one’s patience.
After completing my Ph.D. in Organization and Management and joining academia, I decided to focus my golf efforts in the field of business. Today, I offer Leadership Golf Workshops and only administer a select number of high-quality golf tournaments. The workshops are designed for leaders (academia, non-profit, and corporate) committed to learning and participating in a fun and unique outing that blends business concepts and sport. In a customized way, I address leadership and management topics plus introduce (or review) golf skills. Workshops are conducted at golf courses and can be structured for a half or full day retreat. Let me know if you need more information about a customized golf workshop for your organization. And by the way, I haven’t put away my basketball sneakers.
The Business of Golf
- Are you tired of being left out from business meetings scheduled on the golf course?
- Do you want to be associated with or promoted to the key leadership team?
- Do your peers often ask you to “just drive the beer cart” at the company tournament?
- Is your successful leader spending more time on the golf course than in the office?
- Do you aspire to be an effective business professional with contacts and connections?
- Do you wonder why so many former professional athletes now play the game once “shunned” in their youth?
- Do you know why golf is considered the “sport of business”?
- Did you know that golf is a $76+ billion industry that continues to outpace inflation each year and other industries such as electronics, motion picture and sound recording, amusement, gambling, and recreation?
- Do you desire to learn a lifetime sport that is often the easiest subject to begin a conversation in a networking meeting?
Tournament Planners: Don’t leave your beginners or “interested in golf” clients out of the fun! Schedule a workshop while the tournament is in play. The workshop and skills clinic can be customized for academia, community organizations, business executives, corporate management teams, and business students.
